What I learned
A startup site raising VC is a different animal from a typical marketing build — the design has to signal seriousness to investors while the technical foundation has to not embarrass you when traffic scales. The right move is to invest in a real design system early, even if only a handful of pages exist on day one.
I also learned how productive a custom-themed WordPress build can be when you stop treating it like a templated CMS and start treating it like a content runtime backed by a real component library.
What I did
- Ran initial stakeholder discovery and a competitive analysis for the energy-transition category.
- Designed the brand and logo, established the design system, produced wireframes and high-fidelity Figma mocks.
- Built a custom WordPress theme tuned for scalability and content velocity.
- Applied SEO best practices and wired up analytics from launch day one.
What I shipped
